Director Rick Fairbairn, Director Eugene Foisy, Mr. Eric Foster MLA and Mr Colin Mayes MP for the Okanagan Shuswap, Lumby’s Mayor and Council have all been invited to speak on May 5th at a Local Climate Impacts event at the Whitevalley Community Centre Hall C. in Lumby – 2250 Sheilds Ave. between 10AM and 2PM

This is an informal event however, there will be some presentations by various people who have something to say about the impacts of carbon on our climate.

Mr Mayes has another engagement but hopefully, Lumby’s Mayor, Council, staff, MLA Foster and Directors Foisy and Fairbairn will drop by and say a few words on climate change. To be sure we welcome any words you have to add in this conversation.

Randy Rauck will be singing a salmon song at 11:30.  Huguette Allen will be talking about climate and agriculture. I believe someone may be talking about the recent mud slide in Cherryville. In between the speakers, I will be singing about climate and salmon.

This is a political event – Life is political!

This is our planet and we need to educate ourselves because the consequences of ignoring the situation could mean the death of our planet as we know it. Without air people can’t breathe. Without the ocean we will not have oxygen. Every second breath we take comes from the Ocean.

Come out and talk about climate change, meet some people, bring your ideas and petitions and sign up sheets and enjoy the music.
